Where do I start?

Why Virtual Services?

Foundry’s mission is to support young people in living a good life. This mission was co-created by a diverse group of youth, families, caregivers, staff and service providers across the province. The phrase “living a good life” was inspired by First Nations and Métis youth who participated in a Talking Circle with Foundry, and it acknowledges the diverse nature, experiences and perspectives of health and wellness.

We recognize the need to provide easy and accessible services to youth and families/caregivers who have barriers to accessing in-person services or do not have a centre in their community. Offering virtual services through video, audio and chat options allows young people and caregivers to continue to access free mental health and wellness services from a place that is safe for them.

We also offer support for families/caregivers across BC! If you have a young person aged 12-24 that you are supporting, Foundry offers counselling, groups & workshops and more! Download the free Foundry BC app and register for a caregivers account or call your local Foundry centre.

add

To access virtual services, download the free Foundry BC app  and register for a youth/caregiver account. If you do not have a mobile device, you can still access services through our web platform. All services available through the Foundry BC app are available at Foundry centres.

Services available through Foundry Virtual BC include:

  • counselling appointments
  • youth & family peer support
  • groups & workshops
  • physical & sexual healthcare services
  • employment & education support

You can book an appointment through video, audio or chat options! If you do not have access to Wi-Fi or cellular signal for appointments, please email online@foundrybc.ca or call 1.833.308.6379

To access in-person services, you can walk into any Foundry centre listed on this page to see which centres are closest to you. Foundry centres offer multiple services in one location. You can find someone to talk to, get support from a care provider, and connect with friendly experts to help navigate health and social services, resources, and programs.

Why does Foundry provide services for youth aged 12-24?

add

Research shows that mental health concerns occur before the age of 25

We want to ensure that we reach young people early and address small problems before they become bigger ones.

If you are outside the 12-24 age range, please visit this link for additional resources.

What is peer support? Does it replace counselling?

add

The goal of peer support is to provide emotional support, acceptance, validation, and empathy regardless of circumstances. The focus is to ensure you feel supported in your recovery and healing.

More importantly, peer supporters and family peer supporters ensure that you and your parent/caregiver are receiving proper support and know that you’re not alone.

While peer supporters have lived experience in a variety of areas, they cannot make formal diagnoses for you and/or your parent/caregivers. If you are looking for a mental health assessment or diagnosis, please book an appointment with a counsellor or nurse practitioner.

How can I support Foundry?

add

Foundry thrives on the strength of our community. There are many ways to support us, whether through direct contributions to your local Foundry center or by helping with our provincial expansion efforts. You can make a donation or host a fundraiser in your community.

Your generous support enables us to build vital centers and enhance access to care, ensuring that youth receive the help they need when they need it. With your contribution, we can continue to support young people like Danny, Victoria, and Amira, expand Foundry centers across BC, and improve access to essential services for all youth.

To learn more about how you can make a difference, please visit foundrybc.ca/donate.

In communities across BC, Foundry is opening centres where young people and their families can find integrated health services in one location, including mental health, primary care, substance use, peer support and social services.
