Land Acknowledgement

In the spirit of respect, truth and reconciliation, Foundry Kootenay Boundary gratefully acknowledges that the land on which we gather is the traditional and unceded territories of the Ktunaxa ɁamakɁis, Sn̓ʕaýckstx (Sinixt), Sylix, and Secwepemcúl’ecw (Secwépemc) peoples, and is home to the Métis and many diverse Indigenous persons.

Who We Are

Hosted by the Kootenay Boundary Community Services Co-operative (the Koop), Foundry Kootenay Boundary unites multiple partner organizations that will address the health and wellness needs of young people aged 12 to 24 and their families who live in the rural Kootenay Boundary region. From Rock Creek to Kaslo, Nakusp to Salmo and virtually, Foundry Kootenay Boundary aims to bring five core service streams to youth, young adults, and caregivers:

  • Mental Health
  • Substance Use
  • Physical & Sexual Care
  • Peer Support
  • Social Services

“I recommended Foundry to a young friend who’s struggling with things Foundry could help her with. I find it important and relieving that Foundry is there.”

- Youth from Foundry Virtual

“This place is a life saver. Every day I’m grateful the option is here and available. The team is kind and helpful. The resource is greatly appreciated by our family.”

- Family member from Foundry Comox Valley

“Foundry helped me feel like I could breathe again.”

Get Involved

We are asking youth, young adults, and caregivers in Kootenay Boundary to join us in creating local leadership tables that will co-design and co-lead the envisioning and building of Foundry locations within various communities in Kootenay Boundary.

The overall goal for engagement is to create space and opportunities for youth, family and community members to consult, co-design and co-lead Foundry locations and service delivery.

Engagement will begin in Spring/Summer 2025, if you are interested in joining our local leadership tables, like the youth and/or family advisory committee, or participating in Foundry Kootenay Boundary development, please email foundry@thekoop.ca.
