It can be exciting, fun and stressful to live on your own. You will have the chance to grow as a person and enter a new stage in your life. It can also be stressful because you might feel nervous about living on your own, or your might have to move out even if it wasn’t your choice.

There can be many reasons someone may be looking for housing. It can be a chance to move out and build independence and confidence. It may be necessary to get away from a violent or abusive home. Or, it can be because you are no longer able to live in the place you were before.

No matter the reason, it’s important to acknowledge your feelings associated with finding housing, and know that there is a lot of information available to support you through this journey. If you need support during this stressful time, you can reach out to supports such as a local Foundry Centre near you, or Foundry virtual services to speak with someone.
