We are excited to share that Foundry centres are expanding service offerings to nearby communities in Pemberton, West Kelowna, Summerland, 100 Mile House and Port McNeil, helping bring Foundry’s trusted, youth friendly services closer to home for young people and their families.
Each location will operate as an extension of an existing Foundry centre in a neighbouring community and will be delivered by local organizations. This model ensures consistency in care while responding to the unique needs of each community.
"Providing more young people with confidential, same-day access to mental-health and substance-use supports within small communities will ensure that youth experiencing challenges can easily connect to supports when they need it,” said Amna Shah, parliamentary secretary for mental health and addictions."
The new locations will provide free and confidential supports for youth 12-24 and their families and caregivers. Services may include drop-in counselling, peer support, physical and sexual health care, access to groups and workshops, support with education and employment. By expanding services into remote and rural communities, Foundry continues to improve access to timely care, supporting youth when and where they need it most.
