Foundry Snuneymuxw (Coming Soon)
Land Acknowledgement
Foundry Snuneymuxw will operate on the traditional and ancestral lands of Snuneymuxw First Nation. We honour the land, the original inhabitants of this region, and the spirit and intent of the Snuneymuxw Treaty of 1854. Since time immemorial, Snuneymuxw has nurtured balance within this magnificent territory. Now, amidst complex challenges, Snuneymuxw First Nation invites us to continue the legacy of learning from, caring for and preserving the unsparing blessings of this sacred place.
Foundry Snuneymuxw will support the health and wellness needs of youth and their families in the Nanaimo area. Our services will be free and confidential.
Foundry Snuneymuxw will be hosted by Kw’umut Lelum Child and Family Services. At Foundry centres, multiple service providers and organizations work together to provide a variety of services to youth ages 12-24 and their families.
We will offer holistic support by weaving mainstream wellness approaches with Indigenous ways of healing to create stronger outcomes for our precious youth.
Foundry Snuneymuxw is part of Foundry’s network of centres across BC. Want to learn more?
Get Involved
Foundry centres are created in collaboration with youth and families! We have launched 3 online surveys to help get feedback from youth, parents/caregivers and those who work with youth in the Nanaimo area. The surveys are looking for community views on gaps and barriers to health services for youth and what programs and services would be most helpful. Responses will help to shape the design and development of Foundry Snuneymuxw. To learn more and get involved, visit kwumut.org/foundry.
