So you’re graduating during the COVID-19 pandemic. The usual celebrations aren’t going to happen this year.
We know it sucks and we aren’t here to tell you it doesn’t. You put in a lot of hard work. Exams, presentations, volunteering, and group projects. Hours spent studying. The pressure you felt to get to this point. You deserve to be celebrated.
Everyone – from us at Foundry, to your teachers, and your community – still want to recognize you for your achievements. How we recognize you will look different this year.
Your graduation year is stressful at the best of times and you’ve had to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re proud not only for your accomplishments during school, but for how maturely you have handled the situation – even if it felt hard at times.
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit many of us hard. Many people have lost their sense of connection to community, jobs, or lives. Your bravery, leadership, and sacrifice, is a source of pride and hope during these difficult times.
As you move towards your next chapter, we are sad you may not have the send-off you deserve. Regardless of you celebrate your graduation – and you should – know that we’re cheering for you. Congratulations on graduating and we’re excited to see what your future holds.
